After feeding other breeds of cattle, the meat quality of the Angus along with the maternal abilities of the Angus made our choice an easy one!  The amount of data compiled by the Angus Association take the guess work out of making breeding stock decisions, allowing us to utilize both the art and science of livestock breeding.  The steers that are not sold for show steers are fed through our home feed lot and direct marketed to consumers, so we’ve really focused on marbling for the best quality meat product.  Our initial herd purchase was a set of bred heifers from Briarwood Angus in Butler, MO.  We’ve really appreciated the maternal ability of these girls.  They have laid us a nice foundation for our herd.
